According to Vietnam’s National Competition Commission, the recall applies to Honda CT125 motorcycles manufactured in Thailand in September and October 2025 and officially imported and distributed in Vietnam.
The program has been in effect since January 20, and is being implemented nationwide at authorized Honda motorcycle dealers and service centers.
Honda Vietnam said the recall was initiated after identifying a potential safety risk linked to the design of the front wheel axle bolt.
In rare situations, direct contact or impact in the front wheel area could result in injury to people or damage to property while the motorcycle is in operation, the firm explained.
Consumers can determine whether their motorcycles are affected by checking frame numbers against the list released by the company.
Owners of eligible vehicles are advised to bring their motorcycles to authorized service centers for inspection and corrective work, which is expected to take nearly 20 minutes.
Honda Vietnam said all inspection and parts replacement costs will be fully covered by the company, and its authorized dealer network will notify customers and proactively arrange inspection or repair schedules for affected vehicles.
The company added that the recall is not limited to motorcycles it directly imported and distributed, but also extends support for inspection and repairs to CT125 motorcycles of the same model type currently in circulation in Vietnam, including those not sold by the firm.
It said no incidents affecting the operation or safety of motorcycles included in the recall have been recorded so far.
The National Competition Commission has urged consumers who own Honda CT125 motorcycles manufactured in Thailand during the specified period to check their frame numbers and promptly bring affected vehicles to the nearest authorized service center for free inspection and repairs.
The agency said it will continue to monitor the recall process to ensure consumer safety and rights.
Earlier, the commission also received a report from Honda Vietnam concerning a recall of the large-displacement Honda CB1000 Hornet motorcycle imported and distributed in Vietnam.
