Hospitality brand under Vietnam’s Vingroup eyes overseas expansion

Vinpearl, a tourism-hospitality-entertainment brand owned by Vietnamese billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong’s Vingroup, is preparing to expand overseas as part of a long-term strategic plan, according to a report released by MB Securities (MBS).

MBS said Vinpearl’s international projects will be carefully selected based on infrastructure standards, local purchasing power, and the experience of operating partners.

The move does not signal saturation in Vietnam’s domestic market, which continues to grow thanks to rising middle- and upper-class demand for luxury travel and entertainment.

Vingroup confirmed to Tuoi Tre (Youth) online newspaper that the overseas expansion is a strategic goal but did not disclose specific markets or timelines.

Regarding its business performance, despite achieving 71 percent of its full-year profit target in the first half of 2026, Vinpearl has no current plans to raise its annual financial goals.

The company aims for VND16 trillion (US$618 million) in revenue and VND3 trillion ($115 million) in net profit for 2026.

In the first half of the year, the company reported VND6.795 trillion ($262 million) in net revenue, up 15 percent year on year, and VND2.18 trillion ($84 million) in net profit, more than eight times higher than the same period in 2025.

In its resort and entertainment businesses, Vinpearl benefits from Vingroup’s ecosystem, which allows it to share infrastructure and optimize operating costs, MBS said.

In addition to its existing projects in popular Vietnamese destinations like Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Nam Hoi An, Vinpearl plans to develop new projects in Tuyen Quang Province, Ho Chi Minh City, and Quang Ninh Province.

For its hotel business, Vinpearl expects to work with international hotel management brands to operate certain properties within its planned Can Gio complex in Ho Chi Minh City.

MBS added that Vinpearl would launch two new hotel brands, including Vinpearl Legendlux, a six-star brand targeting affluent Vietnamese and international guests, and VinFun, a modern, mid-sized lifestyle hotel chain designed for families and young travelers.

VinWonders, Vinpearl’s theme park and entertainment brand, continues to rely on domestic visitors, who account for around 80 percent of total guests, ensuring the company maintains more predictable revenue and reduces its exposure to fluctuations in international tourist arrivals.

Vinpearl also plans to enter the premium senior living market, with its first project expected to launch in the final quarter of 2026.

The company aims to expand its Vin New Horizon senior-living chain in Can Gio, Ha Long, and other cities.
