House fire kills 1 in Hanoi

The incident occurred at around 8:00 am at No. 10, Alley 78, Quang Tien Street in Tay Mo Ward.

Witnesses at the scene reported hearing a loud explosion coming from the house shortly before flames and thick smoke began to spread.

Neighbors raised the alarm and tried to rescue anyone trapped inside, but heavy smoke made it impossible to reach the victim.

After being notified of the incident, firefighters quickly arrived at the site, and brought the flames under control within about 30 minutes.

The blaze damaged parts of the house, while dense black smoke affected nearby homes.

Initial reports from local authorities confirmed one fatality, a man whose body was later recovered by the rescue team.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
