Organized by the Vietnam Kennel Association, the Vietnam Championship Dog Show Da Nang marked the first time the event had been held in central Vietnam, with entrants coming from Da Nang as well as Hue City, Quang Ngai Province, Quang Tri Province, Gia Lai Province, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi.
International participants brought nearly 400 show dogs from Thailand, the Philippines, and South Korea.

Over 100 dogs met the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) standards.
Over two days, contestants competed in categories such as breed beauty, obedience and International Working Dog Trial Regulations protection sports, local dog breeds, cat beauty, heavyweight cats, cat fashion shows, dog racing, and canine couture.

“This is the first time I’ve seen some rare breeds, such as cats from Egypt and Siberia,” said Nguyen Nhu Quynh, a pet owner from Hoi An Ward.
“But what impresses me most is learning about professional training and care techniques.”

Event organizer Nguyen Dat said the show was designed not only to celebrate the most beautiful animals but also to professionalize Vietnam’s pet-owning community, promote international integration, and reinforce responsible, compassionate pet care.
