Between 10:00 and 11:30 am, Cua Lo Ward in Nghe An Province experienced rain and strong winds due to the influence of the third tropical storm in the East Vietnam Sea.
At a section of Cua Lo Beach near Binh Minh Square, a group of tourists from a northern province entered the sea after participating in a team-building activity. Only a few wore life jackets while swimming.

Onshore, Nguyen Van Than, a beach rescue worker, repeatedly blew his whistle and urged the tourists to return to shore.
“I called out to them several times, but they refused to come back. They explained that the storm hadn’t arrived yet and asked to swim near the shore since they had just arrived in Cua Lo,” he said.

Tran Tuan Anh, director of the rescue and disaster prevention center of Cua Lo Ward, confirmed with Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that a swimming ban had been announced starting at 8:00 am on Monday due to the storm’s developments.
He emphasized the importance of public awareness and urged both residents and tourists to take personal safety seriously and strictly follow the instructions of rescue teams by avoiding the beach during storm warnings.

On June 14, due to the impact of the first storm to enter the East Vietnam Sea this year, over 20 swimmers at Cua Lo Beach were suddenly swept into deep water zones.
Rescue teams responded quickly, working with local residents to bring all victims ashore safely.
Restaurants and hotels along Binh Minh Street were rushing to reinforce buildings, while fishermen pulled their basket boats ashore and guided fishing vessels to safe anchor zones.

According to a rapid report from the Nghe An steering committee for natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, and civil defense, heavy rains and thunderstorms on Saturday night caused one death and injured four others, primarily due to falling trees.
A total of 357 homes across the province were affected. Of these, 17 were completely destroyed, 12 severely damaged, 71 moderately damaged, and 257 partially damaged.
