The showcase, 'Indonesia: Your Gateway to Paradise,' opened on Sunday at Vincom Mega Mall Thao Dien.

The event was held in coordination with the Association of The Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA), and was supported by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association.

Six leading Indonesian travel agencies participated in the exhibition, offering exclusive deals on diverse tour packages ranging from health tourism for sports enthusiasts to pre-wedding photography in Bali and luxury yacht experiences.

In an interview with Tuoi Tre News, Indonesian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Carolina Tinangon said the exhibition was meant to attract Vietnamese tourists to Bali and beyond, while promoting two-way tourism between the countries.

"Vietnamese people know Indonesia, but we would like to make it closer to the public by showing the beauty of Indonesia," Tinangon said.

Tinangon highlighted Vietnam's potential as a tourism market, citing its strong economic growth approaching eight percent and a large segment of young travelers eager to explore abroad.

"The young content creator group always wants to discover and share interesting things on their journey,” the diplomat observed.

"Indonesia offers a lot to these young travelers -- a unique and dazzling experience, natural beauty, volcanoes, beaches, forests, and abundant nature.”

I Ketut Sujata, a representative from the participating Indonesian travel agencies, echoed this assessment, calling Vietnam, particularly Ho Chi Minh City, a highly attractive market for Indonesia's tourism sector.

"Geographically, Vietnam is not far from Indonesia, which leads to many flight options between the two countries,” Sujata explained.

"Furthermore, Vietnam has a large population, ranking third in ASEAN after Indonesia and the Philippines.

"It is a very interesting market for us.”

The event concluded the same day, marking the end of the two-day 'Indonesia: Your Gateway to Paradise' tourism promotion program.
