Inside Vietnam’s Son Doong Cave – world’s largest (drone video)

Tuoi Tre News introduces an amazing video shot by American photographer Ryan Deboodt with his drone when he conducted National Geographic’s “Son Doong 360” project.

Located in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh, Son Doong is now considered the world’s largest cave after it was found by a local resident named Ho Khanh in 1991.

Son Doong then became famous after a group of scientists from the British Cave Research Association, headed by Howard and Deb Limbert, led the first expedition into the cave in 2009.

It has attracted considerable attention from documentary filmmakers from well known companies such as the BBC, National Geographic, and many more.

It was also featured in National Geographic Magazine in 2011.

“Son Doong 360” is a project sponsored by NatGeo and led by 27-year-old Swedish journalist Martin Edström. The project was completed in January.

In his project, Edström took many pictures of and shot various videos of the cave and then combine them to create 360-degree images which allow viewers to have an omnidirectional view.

Ryan Deboodt provided the following video shot with a drone for Tuoi Tre News:
