Intel celebrated the 20th anniversary of the operations of Intel Products Vietnam on Friday.

From a factory that broke ground at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park in 2006, Intel has since committed a total of $4.1 billion in investment in Vietnam.

In 2025 alone, the company generated approximately $11.67 billion in export value, accounting for 57 percent of the Saigon Hi-Tech Park's total export turnover and about 12 percent of Ho Chi Minh City's total exports.

Recognizing Intel Products Vietnam's contributions, Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan said that the company had effectively paved the way for Vietnam's semiconductor industry.

According to Minister Quan, 20 years after Intel entered Vietnam, the country has developed a semiconductor market valued at more than $21 billion, attracted over $14 billion in foreign investment through more than 240 projects, established around 60 integrated circuit design companies, and built a workforce of 5,000-7,000 chip design engineers, many of them highly skilled.

“That tremendous value lies in laying the initial foundation for Vietnam’s semiconductor industry,” Minister Quan said.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc also commended and acknowledged Intel Vietnam's significant contributions to the city's socio-economic development over the years and in the future.

He pledged that the municipal government would continue to support Intel, proactively address challenges and obstacles, and create the most favorable conditions for Intel Products Vietnam to grow further while helping Ho Chi Minh City become an indispensable link in the global technology map.

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Intel Products Vietnam received a certificate of merit from Minister Quan and a certificate of merit awarded by the Ho Chi Minh City administration.

Beyond its contributions to the semiconductor sector, Intel's presence in Vietnam has also acted as a catalyst for the development of a broader industrial ecosystem, supporting suppliers, logistics service providers, and local partners.

Over the past two decades, Intel Products Vietnam has helped train nearly 10,000 Vietnamese engineers, technical specialists, and leaders, while enabling more than 600 local suppliers to meet standards required to participate in advanced manufacturing supply chains.

Intel has also supported these partners in adopting global standards for innovation, quality, and operational capability.
