Tracey Brownrigg, co-curricular coordinator and community manager at BIS HCMC, expressed her deep emotion upon learning about the story of the courageous young fighter Le Thanh Thuy, the legacy she left behind, and the enduring efforts to support children with cancer that the Thuy’s Dream program has carried forward over the past 18 years.
“Parents, staff, and students of BIS want to be part of Thuy’s inspiring journey, helping underprivileged children through their difficult times,” Brownrigg said.
“We hope that through this program, BIS students will develop empathy and learn to support less fortunate children.
"We also value the partnership with Tuoi Tre and look forward to continued collaboration in the future under the Thuy’s Dream program."
The donation ceremony was attended by representatives of the BIS parent association, including Petra Mojziskova, Nhung Vu, Tomoko Kumakura, Anchal Bansal, and Aya Oda.
Speaking with Tuoi Tre, Anchal Bansal expressed hope that contributing to the Thuy’s Dream foundation would help support children with cancer who are in need. These contributions, she said, also help students cultivate kindness and compassion.
“For a person, kindness and compassion are extremely important. As a mother, I want my children to empathize with disadvantaged kids and help improve their lives,” Bansal shared.
"This is an opportunity for the community and BIS to raise awareness about childhood cancer and spread the good that we can do to help these children," Oda shared.

Nguyen Van Dung, head of the academic affairs unit at Tuoi Tre Training Center, extended gratitude to BIS for their contribution to the Thuy’s Dream program.
“Le Thanh Thuy was an inspiring figure for her contributions to helping cancer patients and her resilient fight against illness," Dung said.
"We hope the Thuy’s Dream program will continue spreading that message, and we look forward to more collaborative activities with BIS in the near future."
Earlier in 2024, BIS also partnered with Tuoi Tre to organize various meaningful activities for pediatric cancer patients at the second campus of the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital in Thu Duc City, including Christmas gift-giving, coloring sessions, and recreational activities.
The Thuy’s Dream Foundation was set up by Tuoi Tre to support children with cancer as well as to honor Le Thanh Thuy, a high school girl famous for her long fight against bone cancer prior to her surrender on November 2, 2007.
