On New Year’s Day, express tourist boats from the mainland brought steady streams of visitors to Phu Quoc, while arrival halls and access roads at Phu Quoc International Airport were busy with travelers beginning their holiday, underscoring the island’s appeal as a major destination for international tourists.
Thousands of visitors toured attractions such as Grand World Phu Quoc, VinWonders Phu Quoc, Hoang Hon or Sunset Town, Hon Bridge also known as Kiss Bridge, Khem Beach, and Rach Vem Beach, with many sites remaining active well into the evening.

Arju Ramteke, a visitor from India, said her New Year holiday in Phu Quoc was both impressive and memorable.
She highlighted Sunset Town, Kiss Bridge, and Khem Beach, noting that the continuous and elaborately staged shows created a distinctive and engaging experience.
“In Phu Quoc I can watch the sun set in a fiery red over the sea. The scenery is stunning. Phu Quoc is truly a wonderful tourist destination,” Ramteke said.

According to the provincial tourism department, the area welcomed nearly 72,000 visitors on January 1, up more than 41 percent year on year, generating total revenue of VND172 billion (US$6.54 million).

Phu Quoc alone accounted for more than 22,400 visitors, including almost 7,000 international arrivals.
Nguyen Thanh Quoc, deputy director of the tourism department, said the agency had issued guidance to local authorities, tourism businesses, and travel operators to improve service quality, ensure transparent pricing, and maintain visitor safety during the New Year holiday.

Phu Quoc has invested heavily in premium tourism products, including large-scale performances and fireworks shows at night, to provide visitors with a full day-to-night holiday experience, he added.
