The two top leaders introduced members of their delegations before stepping onto the honorary platform.
The honor guard saluted Party chief Lam and his spouse, while the national anthems of Vietnam and Kazakhstan were played.
The Kazakh president then invited the Vietnamese Party leader to review the guard of honor.

Following the ceremony, the two leaders held a private meeting, then led their respective high-ranking delegations in formal talks.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, Vietnam and Kazakhstan have maintained a strong and growing traditional friendship.
Kazakhstan is currently Vietnam’s second-largest trading partner within the Eurasian Economic Union, while Vietnam is Kazakhstan’s second-largest partner in ASEAN.

Vietnam exports a wide range of goods to Kazakhstan, including mobile phones and components, machinery, computers, electronics, agricultural products, seafood, canned vegetables and fruits, clothing, and footwear.
The Southeast Asian nation imports raw materials such as unprocessed lead and zinc, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metal products.
Cooperation between the two countries has also expanded in culture, tourism, education and training, transportation, energy, local-level partnerships, and people-to-people exchanges.

This state visit underscores Vietnam’s consistent foreign policy of strengthening comprehensive relations with traditional partners in Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Eastern Europe, including Kazakhstan.
It is expected to deepen Vietnam-Kazakhstan ties across all sectors and elevate the bilateral relationship to new strategic heights that align with both nations' shared interests.
