The Kia Sonet
Depending on the model and variant, prices have dropped by VND10-54 million (US$381-2,050).
With additional promotions from dealers, the actual selling prices of these vehicles are now even lower, pushing some urban SUVs to record-low levels in an increasingly competitive market.
Kia Sonet priced from $18,105
The Kia Sonet remains the most affordable SUV/crossover in Kia’s line-up in Vietnam.
Its official list price has been cut by VND10-20 million ($381-762), depending on the version.
Beyond the list price adjustment, Kia is also offering promotional incentives of up to VND40 million ($1,524) for the Sonet.
These incentives can be applied directly to the purchase price, bringing the cost down to some VND475 million ($18,105).
At the new price, the Sonet becomes more competitive in the small SUV/crossover segment.
New entrant Suzuki Fronx has a list price starting at VND520 million ($19,805), but is currently discounted to around VND490 million ($18,660).
Meanwhile, the Hyundai Venue carries a list price of VND499 million ($19,000), though dealer prices are already hovering near VND475 million ($18,100).

Kia Seltos priced from $21,680
In the higher segment, the Kia Seltos has received deeper list price cuts than the Sonet, with the largest reduction reaching VND54 million ($2,050).
Even the least-affected variant has been discounted by roughly VND20 million ($762).
Aside from the official price cuts, the Seltos is currently offered with promotions of up to VND70 million ($2,665).
After applying these incentives, the actual selling price can fall to about VND569 million ($21,680), significantly lower than the revised list price.
Competitors in the same segment are also adjusting prices to stay competitive.
The Mitsubishi Xforce has a list price starting from VND599 million ($22,805), but is currently discounted to around VND569 million ($21,660), along with a VND15 million ($570) fuel voucher.
Meanwhile, the Hyundai Creta is being discounted by VND35-50 million ($1,330-1,905), bringing real-world prices to just over VND560 million ($21,335).

Kia Carens priced from $22,040
Among the three models, the Kia Carens has seen the smallest adjustment.
Its list price has been reduced by only VND10 million ($381), and the change applies solely to the standard variant.
Unlike the Sonet and Seltos, the Carens currently does not come with additional promotional programs.
In the MPV segment, the Carens faces strong competition from the Mitsubishi Xpander.
The Xpander recently introduced a new standard variant with a list price of VND568 million ($21,608), but dealer discounts have pushed the price down to about VND511 million ($19,465).
The Hyundai Stargazer is being discounted even more aggressively, with incentives reaching up to VND107 million ($4,080) as dealers clear inventory ahead of a major facelift expected to debut as soon as next month.
