The delegation included officials from the Department of Media under the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.
During the meeting, Tuoi Tre Editor-in-Chief Le The Chu briefed the Lao delegation on the newspaper’s history, community programs, and efforts to adapt to the decline of print media through digital transformation.

He highlighted three pillars of Tuoi Tre’s digital strategy — human resource development, technology adoption, and financial sustainability.
“We have a detailed and long-term plan for digital transformation to adapt to new media environments and changing reader habits as social media platforms become more dominant,” Chu said.

Phanthavong praised Tuoi Tre’s innovation and community engagement efforts, expressing interest in closer cooperation and professional exchanges between Lao and Vietnamese journalists.
“I hope Tuoi Tre will welcome Lao journalists to learn from its experience, or send experts to Laos to provide training in online journalism and digital transformation,” she said.

The Lao delegation also toured Tuoi Tre’s integrated newsroom and digital content development center, where staff analyze reader engagement data to guide editorial strategy.
The group later visited a journalism training class jointly organized by Tuoi Tre and Nguyen Tat Thanh University as part of the paper’s education partnership programs.
