A moderately strong southwest monsoon over southern waters, paired with upper-level wind convergence, is expected to bring heavy rain to the southern region.

Between Thursday and Saturday, upper-level southwesterly winds may persist before gradually weakening.

Sunshine will continue during daylight hours, while widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop in the afternoon and evening.

Some areas may see moderate to heavy rain.

Rainfall is expected to ease from Saturday onward, allowing sunnier conditions to return.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Central Highlands and southern regions on Thursday, according to the national weather center.

Rainfall is forecast to range from 10 to 30 millimeters, with some locations receiving precipitation of up to 50 millimeters.

The center has also issued warnings about localized flooding in low-lying areas, urban centers, and industrial zones.

Residents are advised to remain alert for the risk of flash floods along small rivers and streams, as well as landslides on steep slopes.
