In the Vietnam Register’s list of officially published vehicle energy-consumption figures on September 24, the Lexus ES 500e CG appears under type code XXZM26L-AEDGN.

The importer is listed as Toyota Motor Vietnam Company.

The registration documents confirm that the ES 500e is a fully electric car equipped with two electric motors, powering the front and rear axles.

According to Lexus’ U.S. specifications, the ES 500e is powered by a 338-horsepower electric powertrain and features the DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system.

The vehicle has a curb weight of 2,280 kilograms and a gross vehicle weight of 2,735 kilograms.

The Lexus ES 500e has previously been spotted on Vietnamese roads.

The vehicle, finished in blue, features the fastback-style bodywork characteristic of the new-generation ES, along with large 21-inch wheels.

It was seen wearing temporary registration plates, indicating that the vehicle had completed the necessary procedures to operate on public roads and was awaiting its official launch.

The new-generation Lexus ES is expected to make its Vietnam debut on October 7.

Dealers have indicated a tentative price of VND2.98 billion (US$114,730).

The electric ES fitted with 21-inch wheels has a driving range of up to 438 kilometers on a full charge, according to U.S. specifications.

It remains unclear whether the Vietnamese-market version will offer the same range.
