As the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, approaches, four- and five-star hotels in Ho Chi Minh City are seizing the golden opportunity to attract both local and international visitors with all-inclusive festive experiences.

The 2026 Tet holiday in Vietnam for civil servants and public employees is scheduled for nine consecutive days, from Saturday, February 14 (27th of the twelfth lunar month), to Sunday, February 22 (sixth of the first lunar month).

This period is expected to fuel a surge in demand for accommodation and dining services.

Many hotels in the city have reported high occupancy rates.

A representative of Grand Saigon Hotel said that its room occupancy had reached 90-95 percent in the days leading up to Tet.

The hotel expects visitor numbers to remain steady through March, buoyed by post-Tet festivities and citywide celebrations, before entering the off-peak travel season in April.

To cater to guests celebrating the Lunar New Year on-site, the hotel has prepared traditional Tet feasts featuring thit kho hot vit (caramelized pork and eggs), canh kho qua (bitter melon soup), banh chung (square sticky rice cake), and banh tet (cylindrical glutinous rice cake).

The response from diners has been overwhelmingly positive, according to the hotel.

At Royal Hotel Saigon, its room occupancy is estimated to reach over 80 percent during the holiday, with international travelers accounting for the majority, said director Vu Thi Thanh Hien.

To welcome the festive season, Royal Coffee has introduced a refined special menu titled ‘Tet - A Taste of Love,’ combining tasty dishes with panoramic views of Nguyen Hue Flower Street from one of the city’s most sought-after vantage points.

“The highlights of the restaurant are our twin noodle dishes: fish rice noodle soup and chicken rice noodle soup, offering a light and refreshing alternative to traditional Tet fare,” Hien said.

“Guests can also enjoy familiar favorites such as fish vermicelli, beef pho and bun bo [beef noodles], ideal for a light breakfast or lunch."

Tet dining packages at many hotels range from VND2 million (US$77) to VND6 million ($230) per person or more.

Beyond cuisine, guests are offered enhanced experiences such as live music performances, with limited seating that ensures privacy and attentive service throughout the holiday.

Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel has unveiled a series of Tet 2026 programs designed as a comprehensive journey where accommodation, gastronomy, and cultural elements seamlessly blend.

A corporate Tet stay package, available through February 28, features various room categories with benefits, including a daily breakfast buffet, early check-in and late check-out, and a 20-percent discount on dining services.

“Our premium seafood buffet brings together top-tier ingredients such as sashimi, abalone, fresh oysters, and dry-aged beef with truffle sauce, complemented by traditional Tet specialties like homemade banh chung,” said a hotel representative.

Tran Thuy Thanh Truc, director of marketing and communications at The Reverie Saigon, said that the trend of enjoying Tet in a more luxurious, self-care-oriented manner is becoming increasingly popular.

As such, services during the Lunar New Year holiday focus strongly on quality and immersive experiences.

In February, the hotel’s Long Trieu Restaurant presents a Tet banquet menu featuring handcrafted dim sum and other premium dishes.

Meanwhile, Hotel Nikko Saigon is celebrating Tet with staycation packages paired with culinary experiences such as the Haru Harmony afternoon tea and the ‘An’ prosperity-themed menu at Ming Court.

Each room package is priced from VND3.6 million ($138) per night, including a breakfast buffet, dining and spa privileges, access to the swimming pool, gym and jacuzzi, as well as complimentary shuttle service to the city center.

Heritage retold through art, cuisine, emotion

Under the slogan ‘Weaving Heritage, Touching Emotions,’ the Vietcharm Show will officially launch on the first day of the Lunar New Year, or February 17, within the grounds of the Reunification Palace.

The program will run twice daily, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm and from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

The Vietcharm Show combines performing arts with gastronomy in an immersive setting.

The circular stage design, enhanced by modern lighting, sound systems, and panoramic screens, allows audiences to fully experience the performances from every angle.

The program draws on cultural elements from Vietnam’s three regions.

Also, the culinary component is crafted as a ‘gastronomic script’ representing regional Vietnamese flavors.

Each dish reflects local culinary identity and evokes tastes associated with daily life and traditional festivals.

After each performance segment, guests are invited to interact with artists and explore traditional musical instruments.

Ticket prices, inclusive of the full dining menu, tea party and artistic performances, range from VND1.6 million ($62) to VND1.8 million (69), depending on seating location.
