Making handmade items with Japanese artisans

An exhibition titled Do Thu Cong Nhat Ban: Nhung Thiet Ke Tu Kyoto (Japanese handmade products: Designs from Kyoto), which will be held today, will feature exquisite handmade items by young artisans from Kyoto.

The exhibition is set to take place at 6 pm on April 23 at Hanoi’s Japanese Culture Exchange Center at 27 Quang Trung street in Hoan Kiem district as well as in Ho Chi Minh City and runs until May 12.

The items on display are a unique blend of their predecessors’ time-honored handicrafts with the young artisans’ innovation and contemporary breaths.

Alongside the exhibition will be exchanges with the Japanese artisans, during which spectators will learn how to make handmade items and voice their opinions on how to preserve traditional handicrafts.
