The 26-episode show is produced by Yan in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City- based Dien Quan Media company. In his show, Yan travels to around 13 provinces and cities including Hanoi, HCMC, Lao Cai, Ninh Binh, Da Nang, Hue, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet), Ben Tre, Tien Giang and Can Tho to discover local tourism, cuisine and culture.

In each 20-24-minute episode, the chef joins local residents to cook two to three dishes. The show also sees the participation of Miss Vietnam 2010’s runner-up Hoang My as a companion of Yan.

At the press conference to announce the show in May, the 64-year-old cuisine expert shared his special love for Vietnam. He is even thinking about moving to Vietnam if the show succeeds.

“I rarely give my email address or phone number to people, but with Vietnamese people and media I feel absolutely comfortable about it. Call me and tell me you are Vietnamese, I will be ready to talk to you in three hours,” he laughed.

“Martin – Taste of Vietnam” will be dubbed in Vietnamese, English and Chinese.
