The film will have its international premiere at a special screening in Berlin on April 10, according to industry publication Variety.
Producer Graham King, an Academy Award winner whose credits include Bohemian Rhapsody and The Departed, announced the early screenings during Munich Film Week.
Universal Pictures said the Berlin event will precede the film's global theatrical rollout and mark the start of a series of fan-focused activities, with further details to be announced.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer), MICHAEL traces Jackson's life and career, from his emergence as a child prodigy and lead singer of the Jackson Five to his rise as one of the most influential entertainers in popular music.

The film depicts both his offstage life and some of his most recognizable performances from his solo career.
The film stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson's nephew, in his feature film debut.
The cast also includes Nia Long, Laura Harrier, and Juliano Krue Valdi, alongside Miles Teller and Colman Domingo, a two-time Academy Award nominee.
The screenplay was written by John Logan, who has received three Oscar nominations.
Interest in the film has been strong since the release of its first trailer.
Data cited by analytics firm WaveMetrix showed the trailer drew more than 30 million online views within six hours of release, exceeding the comparable early performance of John Wick: Chapter 4.

Views climbed to 116.2 million within 24 hours, surpassing previous records set by Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, Bob Marley: One Love, and Bohemian Rhapsody, according to the firm.
Despite the commercial momentum, the film has drawn mixed reactions.
Supporters have welcomed the project as a celebration of Jackson's artistic legacy, while critics have questioned its treatment of allegations of child sexual abuse that surfaced during the singer's lifetime, which Jackson denied and were not proven in criminal court.
Michael Jackson, who died in 2009, remains one of the best-selling recording artists in history, with a global fan base that continues to drive strong interest in projects linked to his music and life.
