A miniature replica of the Rach Mieu ferry terminal near Gieng Nuoc My Tho, a large square lake in the heart of My Tho City, Tien Giang Province has become a popular attraction for locals and tourists.

The centerpiece of the display is a scaled-down 100-metric-ton ferry, which has captivated visitors of all ages.

This unique exhibit is one of the main highlights of the Hu Tieu My Tho (My Tho Rice Noodle) Festival in the southern Vietnamese province.

The festival, which kicked off in the city on Friday and runs until Tuesday, is aimed at marking the 345th anniversary of My Tho City’s establishment and welcoming the 2025 New Year.

The Rach Mieu ferry terminal miniature, together with the miniaturized Quay bridge and a display of My Tho, the capital of Tien Giang, in the past and the present, attracted thousands of people on Saturday.

Nguyen Van Binh, a 72-year-old resident of My Tho City, shared that he has been deeply connected to his hometown all his life and treasures anything that evokes memories of its past.

“Society has changed so quickly, but for me, images of the Rach Mieu ferry terminal, Quay Bridge, tailor shops, and newspaper stalls remain vivid in my mind," he said. "Seeing the miniatures in a corner of My Tho fills me with emotion."

The Hu Tieu My Tho Festival, the first of its kind in My Tho City, showcased a range of activities, including a photo exhibition, an orchid contest, and a miniature display competition.
