Do Chi Khoi, chairman of the Kim Long Commune administration, said the victim was found at 12:20 pm near the area where he disappeared.
Police and representatives from the South Korean Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City are investigating the cause of his death.
The victim, identified as K.H.S., 65, was the director of a company in Ngai Giao Commune.
On Friday morning, he and a Vietnamese friend identified as T. drove to Da Den Lake, left their car at a nearby lot, and paddled across the lake for sightseeing and taking photos.
After resting for a while, they began paddling back.
Later, the Vietnamese friend noticed that K.H.S. was no longer visible and reported the incident to authorities.
Nearly 100 personnel, including police, local militia, and rescue teams, were mobilized to search the lake before the body was located.
