The concert, titled 'Melody of Two Nations,' will be held at the Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium, as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Germany.
According to the German Embassy in Vietnam, Anders' much-anticipated return promises to transport Vietnamese fans back to the golden era of the 1980s with timeless Modern Talking hits like 'Cheri Cheri Lady,' 'You're My Heart,' and 'You're My Soul.'
Anders previously performed in Vietnam during 'Modern Talking ft. Thomas Anders Live In Concert' in 2016 and again in 'Modern Talking ft. Thomas Anders & Band' in 2018.
His return has sparked excitement among Vietnamese fans.
Sharing his enthusiasm on social media, Anders wrote, “It is a great honor and joy to hold a concert in Hanoi on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and Vietnam. I’m truly excited to meet my fans in Vietnam once again.”
The post quickly drew messages of support and congratulations, particularly from Vietnamese fans who welcomed the singer’s return with affection and nostalgia.
All tickets for the concert are seated, with prices ranging from VND1.65 million (US$62.5) to VND3.85 million ($145.8).
In addition to Anders, the night will feature performances from talented Vietnamese-German artists, including Tuimi, the rose of the R&B soul music, and actor-musician Lam Vissay, known for his role in Vietnamese blockbuster ‘Mua Do’ (Red Rain).
'Gentleman of music'
Modern Talking, formed by composer Dieter Bohlen and vocalist Thomas Anders, rose to become one of Europe’s most successful pop acts in the 1980s and early 2000s.
The group initially disbanded in 1987, reunited a year later, and broke up in 2003.
Well known for their catchy melodies and synth-driven sound, the duo produced a string of global hits such as 'You're My Heart, You're My Soul,' 'Cheri Cheri Lady,' 'Brother Louie,' 'Atlantis Is Calling, and 'You Can Win If You Want.'
Following the group’s final split, Anders embarked on a diverse solo career that spans pop, jazz, and ballads.
Often referred to as the ‘gentleman of music,’ he is admired for his elegant style, smooth vocals, and artistic consistency over more than four decades.
To date, Thomas Anders remains the only international artist to have performed 12 times at the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
