An officer announced on Sunday that the internal political security division, in coordination with inspectors of the municipal Department of Health, had launched inspections into two kitchens operated by Nhat Anh.

Through preliminary investigations, officials identified multiple breaches of food safety regulations linked to the company’s provision of school meals at several schools in My Duc Commune.

Inspection teams examined kitchens serving Dai Hung, Hop Thanh A, Hop Thanh B, and Hop Tien B Elementary Schools on Thursday last week.

The inspectors found numerous serious violations related to food hygiene and safety in the preparation and delivery of meals for students.

Also, police determined that the supplier’s food delivery process failed to meet safety standards.

Food was transported by motorbike without proper preservation equipment and lacked labels or origin markings.

The food preparation areas had not been granted certificates of eligibility for food safety conditions, were poorly designed to prevent cross-contamination, and had uncovered drainage systems in the presence of insects.

In addition, kitchen staff did not wear gloves during food handling, while food samples were not stored in accordance with regulations.

The company used a motorbike pulling a modified cart to transport meals to Dai Hung Elementary School, raising further hygiene concerns.

Besides, Nhat Anh was found to have falsified documentation related to food safety training for its employees in order to submit the records to the local People’s Committee and schools for appraisal.

Investigators tracing the origin of food supplies discovered that the company had sourced pork, seafood, vegetables, and other produce from suppliers that did not meet food safety standards.

Several items were found to be of unclear origin.

Officers are continuing to clarify the extent of the violations and have stated that the company will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
