The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that state-run museums including the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Vietnam National Museum of History, Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, along with the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre and the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, will open their doors at no cost during the holiday.

This initiative aims to ignite national pride and promote Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and identity to both local and international visitors.

In Hanoi, several themed exhibitions will be on display at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, such as '80th anniversary of the People’s Public Security - Following Uncle Ho’s Teachings' set to open on August 15, 'Autumn of Independence' scheduled for August 26, and an outdoor oil painting exhibition titled 'Spring of Independence' expected to open on September 2.

The Vietnam National Museum of History will unveil an exhibition titled 'Mass Education - Lighting the Future' on August 22.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum will host two exhibitions, including 'Children of the Nation' from August 15 and 'Artificial Intelligence in Applied Arts' from August 22. In Ho Chi Minh City, the museum’s southern branch will present 'Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a Man.'

The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is expected to welcome 50,000 visitors during the three-day period, offering a vibrant array of ethnic minority cultural activities including a highland-style market and traditional art performances.

The Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre will also open to the public with free performances of water puppetry, live music, and dance.

In Ho Chi Minh City, museums under the municipal Department of Culture and Sports such as the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History, War Remnants Museum, Ho Chi Minh City Museum, and Fine Arts Museum, will also offer free entry to city residents and students.

Visitors are advised to bring valid ID cards or student IDs to receive the exemption.

Since 2024, Ho Chi Minh City has granted free museum entry on major commemorative dates for locals and students studying in the city.

The 2025 National Day holiday begins on Saturday, August 30, and runs through Tuesday, September 2.

The holiday includes the two official days off for National Day, as stipulated by law, along with the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), bringing the total to four consecutive days off.
