The musical 'My Dream' is adapted from a stage play by writer Nguyen Thi Thanh Thanh, who won first prize in the 2024 national playwriting contest for children’s theater themed 'Vietnamese Stories Touch the World.'
'My Dream' follows Linh, a poor girl born with physical disabilities whose life is marked by hardship, scarcity, and loneliness.
Despite adversity, Linh keeps a small but burning flame inside her heart: a dream to invent technology that supports vulnerable people suffering pain and despair.
With determination and courage, Linh overcomes obstacles and conflicts to make her dream come true.

According to the production team, 'My Dream' is not only a touching story about a disadvantaged girl but also a symbol for anyone who has ever felt small, weak, or unworthy of dreaming.
It conveys the message that dreams do not depend on one’s starting point or perfection. What matters is the courage to keep them alive and pursue them every day.
Um Dongyoul, director of SangsangMaru Theater, said the two theaters aim to deliver emotional stories to audiences through this musical.
Notably, the playwright herself has an inspiring life story.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Thanh is severely disabled and had to drop out of high school after a sudden illness at the age of 15.
She now cannot perform daily tasks without her mother’s help but has achieved significant awards as a writer.
