The Bac Ninh Confederation of Labor and Fukang Technology Co. Ltd. held a ceremony to admit 492 foreign workers currently employed at the company into the trade union.

Fukang Technology specializes in manufacturing computers, computer peripherals, and electronic components.

The company currently has 710 foreign employees working under labor contracts and participating in social insurance programs in Vietnam.

Among them, 492 workers voluntarily joined the trade union, accounting for nearly 69 percent.

According to the Bac Ninh Confederation of Labor, the event marked a significant milestone for Vietnam’s trade union organization in the process of international integration and its efforts to represent workers at FDI enterprises.

It was also among the first large-scale programs in Bac Ninh to admit foreign workers into trade unions since the 2024 Trade Union Law took effect on July 1, 2025.

Under the new regulations, foreign citizens legally working in Vietnam under labor contracts of at least 12 months are eligible to join and participate in trade union activities.

The admission of 492 foreign union members at Fukang Technology reflects the spirit of reform, adaptability, and integration of Vietnam’s trade union system in the new period.

Bac Ninh currently has more than 800,000 workers, including over 600,000 trade union members.

According to Thach Van Chung, chairman of the Bac Ninh Confederation of Labor, the province attracts not only strong FDI inflows but also a large number of foreign experts, managers, and skilled workers from many countries, contributing to technology transfer, improved modern governance capacity, and industrial development.

He added that the activity also helps build a multinational working environment based on solidarity, equality, mutual respect, and sharing.

The voluntary applications by foreign workers to join the Vietnam Trade Union are vivid evidence of cultural harmony and their aspiration to build long-term ties with Bac Ninh, while also affirming the attractiveness and role of the trade union organization in the context of deep international integration, Chung said.
