Four Chinese found illegally entering Vietnam for transit to Cambodia

Police officers in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang detained four Chinese people illegally crossing the border from Vietnam into Cambodia last week.

The police confirmed the case on Saturday, saying they found the four Chinese nationals showing suspicious signs at Ha Tien City’s bus station on Thursday.

As the group of foreigners failed to present their personal identification documents upon the functional force’s request, they were detained by the Ha Tien police.

At the police station, the four said that they had come from China’s Hubei Province and unlawfully entered Vietnam from the Chinese border province of Guangxi.

An acquaintance helped them travel by road to Ha Tien City in order to find a way to cross into Cambodia.

To ensure COVID-19 prevention and control, authorities in Ha Tien City brought the four illegal Chinese migrants into a centralized quarantine facility.
