The municipal Department of Public Security on Friday afternoon held a press briefing to announce an array of activities for the 2026 People’s Public Security Military, Martial Arts and Sports Games.
The event is scheduled to take place from June 4 to June 11, bringing together nearly 3,000 athletes and performers from 16 military and martial arts teams, 18 sports teams, and several units under the Ministry of Public Security.
Colonel Duong Van Thoan, deputy director of the municipal department, said that apart from traditional military and martial arts events, this year's games would feature new competitions designed to reflect the practical demands of public security operations and combat readiness, including obstacle-course challenges, stick fighting and night-time shooting events.
A highlight of the games will be the opening ceremony on the evening of June 6 at Ngo Mon Square.
Public security forces will entertain spectators with a range of performances, including military band displays, martial arts demonstrations, qigong exhibitions, advanced car and motorcycle driving skills, cavalry displays, practical shooting demonstrations, and simulations of protective operations for high-profile individuals.

A 10-minute low-altitude fireworks display will also be held during the opening ceremony to create a festive atmosphere for residents and tourists.
“The games are expected to draw more visitors to Hue,” Colonel Thoan said.
“In addition to building the professional, elite and modern public security force, we aim to promote Hue as a safe, friendly and beautiful destination to both domestic and international visitors,” he stressed.
