Old, new paddies make peaceful scenery of yellow and green in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta
Straw stubble on some paddies makes the fields look like shiny yellow carpets, while newly planted crops add green pieces to the picture
Visitors to a vast agricultural zone near a mountain in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang these days can feast their eyes on harmonious landscapes dominated by the yellow of harvested rice paddies and the green of newly planted crops.
Ta Pa is one of the seven peaks that make up Bay Nui, also known as That Son, a range of small mountains located in Tri Ton and Tinh Bien Districts in An Giang.
The mountain is famous for its colorful rice paddies surrounding the foothills.
As the summer-autumn crop was harvested, the straw stubble on some paddies near Ta Pa now makes the fields look like shiny yellow carpets. On other paddies, farmers have also started planting their new crops, adding green pieces to the picture.
The harmonious landscape created by the green and yellow mixture of old and new rice crops is made even more picturesque by rows of vibrant green palm trees and the charming trails running through the seemingly boundless paddies.
Here are photos capturing the beauty of the peaceful scenery by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.
