Vietnam crypto boss accused of scam using fake ‘banh mi’ chain scheme

A Vietnamese cryptocurrency executive allegedly used a fake ‘banh mi’ (Vietnamese sandwich) chain scheme to defraud investors, after launching digital tokens including VNDC, ONUS, and HNG and misleading promotions tied to a non-existent retail network, the Ministry of Public Security told a press briefing on Friday.
