Over 200,000 iPhone 17 units pre-ordered in Vietnam ahead of official launch

As of Thursday night, the TopZone system operated by mobile retail chain The Gioi Di Dong had recorded over 94,500 customers placing deposits for various iPhone 17 models.

FPT Shop, while not disclosing specific figures, confirmed that pre-orders during the first phase were huge.

An FPT Shop representative revealed that the pre-order volume could potentially double that of last year’s launch of the iPhone 16 series.

Last year, FPT Shop saw over 50,000 customers register interest in the iPhone 16 devices.

This year’s figures showed that pre-order levels may match those of The Gioi Di Dong.

“We have high expectations for this year’s sales based on the deposit numbers. The new iPhones feature notable upgrades in design, camera systems, and color options, which have driven early interest,” the representative said.

Meanwhile, Minh Tuan Mobile reported over 18,000 pre-orders for both the iPhone 17 and the iPhone Air gadgets within one week of opening sales, a 12-percent increase compared to the iPhone 16 series last year.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max, particularly in the 256GB cosmic orange variant, has been the most sought-after.

The retailer observed high interest in the iPhone Air from Gen Z customers.

Di Dong Viet announced that it had received nearly 27,000 deposits across all its sales channels, including physical stores, websites, and online platforms as of Thursday.

CellphoneS, another major authorized reseller, revealed it had taken more than 20,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 17 series.

The 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max accounted for the majority of these orders.

At 24hStore, over 20,000 customers have registered for either the iPhone 17 or iPhone Air in just over six days since pre-orders opened.

Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro Max made up a staggering 90.6 percent of all registrations.

“Most customers are opting for the 256GB variant, especially within the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro Max models,” a 24hStore representative said.
