The event, held at a park in Ward 4 on Sunday, attracted pet lovers, breeders, and pet care businesses from across the province and beyond.

The contest featured a wide variety of dog and cat breeds, including poodles, pugs, British longhair cats, Persian cats, and Scottish Fold cats.

The competition served as a platform for pet enthusiasts, artisans, breeders, and pet-related businesses to meet, share experience, and exchange knowledge on pet care, breeding, and preservation of rare breeds.

Organizers structured the contest into two main categories—dogs and cats—with a detailed prize distribution.

In the dog category, there were 11 first-place prizes, 11 runner-up prizes, and 11 third-place prizes, each including a trophy and gifts.

Meanwhile, the cat category featured three awards for each placement level, first, second, and third, all accompanied by trophies and gifts.

“I’ve raised my poodle for seven years, and this is the first time I’ve brought him to a pet contest,” shared Huynh Nhut Tri.

“The atmosphere is so lively, and it’s great to meet others who share the same passion for raising and caring for peét."

Tran Cong Toan, owner of the Tiin Tiin Pet Care Store in My Tho, said that was the first time Tien Giang Province had hosted such a competition.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for local households, cooperatives, and businesses in the province and other localities such as Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City to connect and showcase their pets,” he said.
