The event reviewed 15 years of the campaign 'Building Families with Five No's and Three Cleans,' the implementation of Project 938 during the 2022-25 period, and the Mother Sponsor program launched for 2021 to 2025.

Introduced in the difficult years after the pandemic, the Mother Sponsor initiative sparked a powerful wave of compassion across Vietnamese society.

Volunteers have provided more than financial help, offering care, encouragement, and a sense of belonging to children who lost their parents to COVID-19.

Nguyen Thi Tuyen, chairwoman of the Vietnam Women's Union, said the program goes far beyond standard social support.

She described it as a journey of community connection that ensures every orphan in challenging circumstances is sheltered, nurtured, and empowered to pursue their dreams.

One of the most moving stories shared at the event was that of Dao Thi Thanh An, vice-chairwoman of the union's local chapter in Cai Doi Vam Commune in Ca Mau Province.

An has taken on the role of mother sponsor to 43 children, many of whom lost their parents to the pandemic.

In parallel with the Mother Sponsor program, the union is also leading Project 938, which addresses urgent social issues that affect women and children.

The project focuses on areas such as domestic violence prevention, parenting education, and food safety.

Nearly three years into its second phase, Project 938 has established over 2,300 trusted support locations for women and children in crisis and has introduced more than 5,000 parenting education models across the country.

Meanwhile, the long-running campaign promoting five no's and three cleans has transformed rural communities over the past 15 years.

The campaign encourages cleaner homes, safer neighborhoods, and environmentally friendly initiatives like green living and turning waste into money.

The creation of safe houses for women and children has become a vital support network for vulnerable individuals.

At the conference, the Vietnam Women's Union honored 84 individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to these efforts.
