The four-day trip is made at the invitation of President of South Korea Lee Jae Myung and his spouse.
To Lam, along with his spouse and a high-level Vietnamese delegation, attended the inauguration of a statue of late President Ho Chi Minh at the Vietnamese Embassy in Seoul in the afternoon, calling it a meaningful tribute on the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth and ahead of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
The statue in the embassy's campus brings people closer to President Ho Chi Minh, inspiring them to follow his teachings and fulfill his aspiration for Vietnam to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s great powers.
He expressed hope the statue would serve as a gathering place for the Vietnamese community and strengthen bonds with South Korean friends.

Later the same day, the Party chief met embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in South Korea.
Vu Ho, Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea, briefed the Party chief on the embassy’s recent activities.
Ho reported that the Vietnamese community remains united, with many contributing positively to the host country.
Community representatives requested more favorable procedures for nationality and personal documents, improved citizen protection, and support for community development.
The Party chief affirmed that overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part of the nation and pledged to raise their concerns during talks with South Korean leaders.
He also called on the embassy to record and address these requests.

Earlier, the Party chief met members of the Vietnam Innovation Network and Vietnamese experts in South Korea working in priority sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, advanced biomedicine, robotics, automated guided vehicles, aviation, space technology, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Participants shared proposals to boost Vietnam’s high-tech development.
He praised their ideas, noting that high-quality human resources and intellectual contributions from Vietnamese experts worldwide are crucial to the country’s growth.
He urged the Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea to act as a bridge between Vietnam’s domestic and international innovation ecosystems, promote technology transfer, and bring global expertise home.
He also asked Vietnamese ministries and agencies, especially the Ministry of Finance, to continue to coordinate and support the knowledge transfer and realize the Vietnamese experts’ proposals.
