Over the past month, many main roads at the heart of Phan Thiet City in Binh Thuan Province have been bursting with private cars and passenger buses on weekends.
The city, located in south-central Vietnam, has been swarmed with visitors, especially on weekends, due to the peak summer travel season, and the newly-opened Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway.
Tourists have crowded the province’s popular beaches such as Doi Duong - Thuong Chanh, Ong Dia Stone, and Hon Rom - Mui Ne.
Notably, a section stretching from Huynh Thuc Khang Street in Mui Ne Ward to Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in Ham Tien Ward, Phan Thiet City often faces a snarl-up on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
The number of tourist arrivals in the province is expected to amount to about 2.4 million in the third quarter of the year, nearly double last year's figure.
