These milestones span trade and economic matters, security, health, war legacy reconciliation, and people-to-people ties.

The photo wall reflects the humble beginnings of the Vietnam-U.S. partnership while inspiring a vision for the future.

“It is remarkable to see various key moments, key events, and how far we have come,” newly-appointed U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Melissa A. Brown told Tuoi Tre News on Wednesday.

“The past is important to see how far we come to learn from history, but now we want to look forward,” she said of the photo wall exhibition.

Each photo is framed with two symbolic birds: the bald eagle and the ‘Lac’ bird.

The bald eagle, representing the United States, symbolizes freedom, strength, and clear vision, while the ‘Lac’ bird, emblematic of Vietnam, conveys longevity, purity, wisdom, and resilience.

Together, these birds embody a shared commitment to a prosperous future.

The photo wall is on display on Le Duan Boulevard in downtown Ho Chi Minh City through March next year.

“The picture is really good about the key moments in history and how far we've come. The ‘A Partnership for the Future’ photo is talking about where we go from here, where we are doing workforce development, and where we are working on education and training, as well as U.S. technology companies that are interested in Vietnam, Vietnamese technology companies, and universities that are training a new generation of engineers,” newly-appointed U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Melissa A. Brown shares her favorite photo.
