According to police, on Friday morning last week, officers in Dak Nhau Commune received reports of a serious crime at the Thien Hanh farm produce trading facility run by Do Duy Thien, 47, and his wife Chu Hong Hanh, 48.
When police arrived, they found Thien, Hanh, and their 11-year-old nephew D.T.Th. dead at the scene, with multiple gunshot wounds to the head.
Household items had been disturbed, suggesting a violent robbery.
Security camera footage showed a masked man wearing a helmet and face covering entering the house shortly before the shooting.
Major General Hai described the case as “especially serious.”

Following the killings, the Ministry of Public Security ordered an immediate investigation led by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, who directed a coordinated manhunt involving police from Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, and Thanh Hoa.
Around 500 police officers and soldiers were mobilized, including five deputy directors and 15 working teams.
After a 56-hour nationwide manhunt, Tung was arrested in Phuoc Long Ward, Dong Nai Province late on Sunday.
Police have charged Tung with murder, armed robbery, and illegal possession and use of military weapons.
During interrogation, Tung confessed to shooting the victims and stealing VND52 million (US$2,000).
A firearm believed to be the murder weapon was recovered from his residence.

Investigators said Tung had attempted to destroy evidence by shooting out the security cameras before committing the murders.
When asked about social media rumors that the suspect was a gaming addict, Major General Hai said, “We have no evidence to confirm that. The only detail we have is that Tung used to play games when he was in high school.”
Major General Hai added that Tung is unemployed and acted alone. His health is stable, and he has given clear statements to investigators.
The police official also highlighted the importance of around 50 valuable leads provided by local residents, along with assistance from border guards at nearby checkpoints.
“Thanks to the determination of the Ministry of Public Security and coordination among provinces, the suspect was captured just 56 hours after the crime,” Hai said.
