Competitions at the 2026 Military, Martial Arts, and Sports Festival of the People’s Public Security Force (Region III), organized by the Ministry of Public Security, continued in Da Lat on Sunday.

The opening ceremony, held on Saturday evening, drew significant attention from local residents and tourists.

The opening program featured a series of performances showcasing drills, military band displays, qigong, applied martial arts, and tactical response demonstrations, keeping spectators engaged throughout the event.

One of the highlights was a VIP protection demonstration by the security guard force.

In the simulated scenario, a terrorist group used weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles to attack a convoy carrying a VIP.

Security officers quickly formed protective formations, neutralized the attackers, and safely evacuated the protected individual from the danger zone within minutes.

The event then moved to a hostage rescue demonstration by a special operations unit.

Reconnaissance robots, police dogs, and multiple assault teams simultaneously advanced toward the target.

The situation was resolved swiftly and efficiently, drawing sustained applause from the audience.

The special forces’ display of physical strength further heightened the atmosphere.

Officers smashed bricks and roof tiles with their bare hands, cracked coconuts with their heads, bent steel bars, and pulled a truck using only their teeth. Each feat was met with cheers from the spectators.

A mounted police unit and a formation of specialized police motorbikes later entered the square.

Officers arranged themselves into the shape of Vietnam’s national flag and the letters 'CA,' short for Cong An (Public Security), creating memorable scenes under the lights.

The program concluded with a low-altitude fireworks display lasting about 15 minutes, illuminating the entire Lam Vien Square.

This year’s event has brought together 34 delegations from police units representing 17 provinces and cities across the southern, central, and Central Highlands regions.

The event provides an opportunity for participating units to exchange experience, improve military skills, martial arts proficiency, and physical fitness, while also helping promote Da Lat and Lam Dong to domestic and international visitors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, emphasized that strengthening training, discipline, martial arts, and sports activities is an important measure for building a professional, elite, and modern people’s public security force.

He called on participating teams to compete in a spirit of solidarity, honesty, and sportsmanship, strive for strong results, and help promote physical training throughout the force.
