The criminal police division of Da Nang on Friday, in coordination with officers from Ngu Hanh Son and Thanh Khe Wards, conducted inspections at Hoa Su Spa and Massage Parlor inside Muong Thanh Hotel at 270 Vo Nguyen Giap Street and the spa and massage facility at Samdi Hotel at 331–339 Nguyen Van Linh Street.
Officers determined that both establishments showed clear signs of organizing prostitution for both Vietnamese nationals and foreigners.
The illegal activities were carried out using sophisticated methods, operating discreetly on the upper floors of the hotels to evade detection by law enforcement.
In the early hours of Friday, police launched a coordinated inspection and caught multiple couples in the act of buying and selling sex.
More than 40 individuals connected to the operation were taken to the police station for questioning.
At Hoa Su Spa and Massage Parlor, officers caught one couple engaging in prostitution for a fee of VND1 million (US$38).
While checking other rooms, police discovered several female employees waiting to serve customers.
During an emergency search, police seized detailed transaction records, hundreds of condoms, nearly VND28 million ($1,060) in cash, 290,000 South Korean won ($200), and other related evidence.
Investigators identified Ngo Thi Dup, a 44-year-old resident of Hai Chau Ward, as the ringleader.
Along with her accomplices, she allegedly organized prostitution activities from May 2025, generating illicit profits exceeding VND1.4 billion ($53,210).
At Samdi Hotel, prostitution was found to be taking place in VIP rooms.
The activities were disguised as spa and massage service packages priced between VND1.8 million ($68) and VND4.8 million ($182) per session.
Seized items included logbooks, computers, card payment machines, mobile phones, and more than VND20 million ($760) in cash.
Initial findings indicated the operation earned hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong each month.
Police on Saturday detained six individuals, including Ngo Thi Dup, Nguyen Duc Vu, Tran Thi Huong, Truong Thi Thuy Dung, Nguyen Huu Huy, and Tran Lam Huy, for investigation into charges of organizing and harboring prostitution.
Also, police are searching for Le Long Viet, identified as the person directly managing the spa and massage operations at Samdi Hotel.
Officers have called on Viet to turn himself in for questioning.
