Police in Dak Lak Province, located in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, are verifying a video showing a woman singing karaoke while driving a car on a section of National Highway 14 in the province, a police officer reported on Wednesday.
A traffic police leader from the Dak Lak Department of Public Security confirmed they are aware of a viral video circulating on social media.
The video was originally posted on the Facebook page of a woman who owns a wedding restaurant in Dak Lak.
In the footage, the woman can be seen driving a car with one hand while using the other to hold a microphone and sing karaoke.
She frequently glances at a smartphone held by a passenger seated next to her, apparently reading the song’s lyrics.
The woman's actions have sparked widespread outrage among netizens, who criticized her for disregarding the law and endangering the lives of passengers and other road users.
Many have called on authorities to impose strict penalties on her.
Although she has deactivated her Facebook account, the video continues to circulate widely on other platforms.
