Speaking at the event, Wojciech Kusak, political and economic counselor at the Embassy of Poland in Vietnam, said Poland, with a gross domestic product of around US$1 trillion, is currently the 20th-largest economy in the world and is undergoing a strong economic transformation.

He noted that as economic growth faces increasing pressure from climate change and environmental regulations, Poland has been investing heavily in green technologies, ranging from resource management solutions to technologies that reduce the impact of industrial production on the environment.

Applying this approach to trade relations with Vietnam, Poland continues to make effective use of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.

However, the focus of bilateral cooperation is gradually shifting from the exchange of goods toward smarter and more sustainable growth models.

“Our future lies in the exchange of solutions, not just goods,” Kusak said.

Sharing a similar view, Bui Thi Ninh, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Poland has achieved positive results in recent years, with bilateral trade reaching nearly $3.95 billion.

She noted that Poland is one of Vietnam’s key trading partners in central and eastern Europe.

According to Ninh, as the global economy undergoes significant changes, the two countries are increasingly interested in expanding cooperation in science and technology, innovation, environmental technologies, and sustainable development.

She welcomed the GreenEvo business delegation, describing green technology as an area with significant potential for cooperation, especially as Vietnam advances its green growth agenda, circular economy development, and goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

At the forum, Piotr Harasimowicz, head of the Polish Trade Office in Ho Chi Minh City, introduced a range of solutions offered by the Polish companies, including water and wastewater treatment, circular economy applications, waste recycling, energy efficiency improvements, environmental monitoring, sustainable materials, and industrial emissions reduction technologies.

He emphasized that Polish companies view Vietnam not only as a promising market but also as a long-term partner for innovation and business development, while calling for stronger connections between the business communities of the two countries.

Among the Vietnamese participants, Nguyen Duc Trung, director of O Plant-based Food, a company specializing in rice-based bread products, said his business is seeking environmental technology solutions from Poland to further enhance its existing natural farming ecosystem.

He added that growing demand for green food products and environmentally friendly agricultural practices in Vietnam is creating substantial opportunities for cooperation with Poland and other countries that have strengths in environmental technologies and sustainable agriculture.
