Popular brands Phe La, Ngu Uyen Hue beef noodle soup, Bosan spicy noodles fined over food safety violations in Hanoi

Several wards in Hanoi have released lists of food businesses fined for administrative violations related to food safety, including a number of well-known brands popular among consumers such as Phe La, Ngu Uyen Hue beef noodle soup, and Bosan spicy noodles.

Specifically, in Nghia Do Ward in Hanoi, updated records from January 1 to April 15, 2026 showed multiple businesses penalized for administrative food safety violations.

Among them was Phe La, a fast-expanding beverage chain in Vietnam.

Its Hanoi branch at 40 Tran Quoc Hoan Street was fined VND8 million (US$304) for allowing food handlers to prepare food without masks or gloves while directly handling cooked and ready-to-eat food.

Ngu Uyen Hue beef noodle soup, a well-known local Hue beef noodle soup restaurant at 134 Nguyen Khanh Toan Street, was fined VND4 million ($152) for allowing staff to prepare food without hats or masks while directly handling cooked food.

Hai Son, a local noodle soup eatery in the Nghia Tan residential area on To Hieu Street, was fined VND2 million ($76) for for failing to use separate equipment to process and store raw and cooked food.

Long Nguyen Consulting and Construction JSC, which operates catering services in Thang Long International Village on Tran Dang Ninh Street, was fined VND8 million for failing to prevent cross-contamination between raw and cooked food in its kitchen layout.

The outlet on To Hieu Street of Bosan, a spicy noodle chain popular with teenagers, was fined VND8 million for allowing staff to prepare food without hats or masks while directly handling cooked food.

Xuan Truong Sakura Buffet Rice, a self-service rice eatery on Hoang Quoc Viet Street, was fined VND32.5 million ($1,234) for operating without mandatory business registration and without a food safety eligibility certificate.

Tan Viet Development and Investment JSC, a company operating food service facilities on Hoang Quoc Viet Street, was fined VND8 million after authorities found that employees handling food were not wearing adequate protective gear.

A nutrition porridge business in the Nghia Tan residential area was fined VND4 million for lacking separate equipment for processing and storing raw and cooked food.

Song Van Café, a café and dining business on Quan Hoa Street, was fined VND25 million ($949) for operating without any food safety eligibility certificate.

Vendor fined after dog entered food preparation area

In Yen Nghia Ward, according to an official list released by local authorities, multiple businesses were also administratively sanctioned for violations of food hygiene and safety regulations.

Among them, Do Thi Ha, whose business is located in Dong Hoang Hamlet, was fined VND12 million ($455) after authorities found her food storage facility failed to meet required standards, including inadequate shelving and food being stored directly on the warehouse floor.

Separately, the Co Do Commune People’s Committee announced administrative penalties for food safety violations involving Chu Thi Dung, a snack vendor in Dong Lau Hamlet.

Dung was fined VND4.8 million ($182) for two violations: allowing a dog into the food preparation area and selling food products of unclear origin valued at VND861,000 ($33).
