During a working session at the plant on Friday last week, officials from Vietnam and Laos were briefed by TC Group on the company’s next phase of development.
A key highlight of the presentation was the plan to start producing EVs in Vietnam from 2026.
According to TC Group’s report, the facility spans an area of over 36 hectares, with a designed annual capacity of 120,000 vehicles.
It currently assembles the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia models under the completely knocked down format.
From 2026, the production line will be expanded to include manufacturing EVs and car components in order to increase the rate of localization, boost exports, and integrate more deeply into the global supply chain.
At present, the Skoda Enyaq electric SUV is available in Vietnam only as a test vehicle and has not yet been launched commercially.
Globally, Skoda’s main EV lineup includes the Enyaq and Elroq, both built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform.

The Skoda Elroq is positioned as the brand’s most affordable all-electric SUV.
In the UK, it is priced from around £31,700 (US$41,665).
The car measures 4.488 meters long, 1.884 meters wide and 1.625 meters tall, slightly larger than the Skoda Karoq sold in Vietnam.
Adopting Skoda’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language, the Elroq features the distinctive ‘Tech-Deck Face,’ layered LED headlights, and the ‘Skoda’ wordmark replacing the traditional winged logo.
Its drag coefficient of just 0.26 is among the best in the mid-size electric SUV segment.
Inside, the cabin has a minimalist, user-focused layout with a floating 13-inch infotainment screen and a compact digital instrument cluster.
Sustainable materials such as RecyTitan and TechnoFil recycled fabrics are used throughout.
Cargo capacity stands at 470 liters, expandable to 1,580 liters with the rear seats folded.
The Elroq comes in three variants:
- Elroq 50: 55 kWh battery, 168 hp, range 375 km
- Elroq 60: 63 kWh battery, 201 hp, range 400 km
- Elroq 85: 82 kWh battery, 282 hp, 545 Nm torque, range up to 581 km
All versions are rear-wheel drive and support DC fast charging up to 175 kW, enabling a 10-80 percent charge in about 28 minutes.

The 2025 Skoda Enyaq represents a facelift over the current version undergoing trials in Vietnam.
Externally, it adopts the updated ‘Tech-Deck Face’ design, highlighted by a front fascia with 36 LED strips forming a distinctive ‘four-eye’ light signature.
A refined grille, redesigned daytime running lights, and new dynamic LED taillights add to its modern appeal.
The 19-21 inch alloy wheels enhance its sporty stance.

Inside, the Enyaq retains its familiar layout with a 13-inch central touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and practical physical controls.
A new steering wheel design and Skoda’s signature ‘Simply Clever’ features such as door-embedded umbrellas and rear-seat phone pockets add to everyday usability.
Built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, the Enyaq 2025 lineup has been fine-tuned for better efficiency:
- Enyaq 60: 63 kWh battery, 201 hp, range 431 km
- Enyaq 85 RWD: 82 kWh battery, 282 hp, 544 Nm torque, range 578 km
- Enyaq 85x AWD: dual-motor setup, same power output, 534 km range
All models support DC fast charging, allowing 10-80 percent recharge in about 24-28 minutes.
