3 dead, dozens injured as long-haul bus overturns in Vietnam’s Gia Lai
A long-haul bus overturned on National Highway 19 in Gia Lai Province in the Central Highlands region early on Monday morning, leaving three people dead and dozens of others injured.
Authorities in Hoi Phu Ward in the province confirmed the same day that a serious traffic accident had occurred in the area and involved a long-haul bus carrying about 31 people.
At around 4:00 am, a Viet Tan Phat passenger bus traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Gia Lai Province suddenly overturned and crashed off the road while passing through the National Highway 19 bypass in Hoi Phu Ward, local media reported.
Taskforces inspect the scene and investigate the cause of the accident.
Emergency and rescue forces were dispatched to the scene to assist the victims, transport the injured to medical facilities, and investigate the cause of the crash.
Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital said that 20 victims from the accident had been admitted for treatment on Monday morning.
Three other people were pronounced dead at the scene.
