Police in Tuy An Bac Commune under the province said on Tuesday evening that the discovery was made on Friday last week by Tong Xuan Trong, a resident of Phong Hau Hamlet in the commune.
While preparing the site for construction, Trong uncovered three cylindrical, green metal objects buried some 0.5 meters below the ground.
The items were marked with red labels featuring English lettering.
Fearing the objects might be explosives, he immediately reported the finding to local authorities.
In response, officers coordinated with soldiers and relevant units to secure the area and safely collect the devices.
After inspection, officers confirmed the objects were M72 shoulder-fired anti-tank rocket launchers.
All three launchers were safely removed and disposed of according to military protocols.
The incident prompted local officials to issue a public safety warning, urging residents not to trade, possess, or use weapons, explosives, or related tools without proper authorization.
Authorities also called on the public to voluntarily surrender or report any such items to help maintain community safety and order.

In May, a large M79 grenade round was discovered at Nhan Tower, a special national relic site, located in former Tuy Hoa City under former Phu Yen Province, now part of Dak Lak Province after the national merger strategy took effect on July 1.
