By 10:00 pm, nearly two hours after the rain stopped, parts of the street remained flooded, with water levels rising above half the height of motorbike wheels.

The inundation stretched for several hundred meters, disrupting traffic and daily life.

Motorbikes and cars struggled to pass, creating waves as they moved through the water.

Some vehicles stalled, leaving owners to push them manually.

Others chose to wait on sidewalks rather than risk their vehicles stalling in the deep water.

“I live near the Quality Tech Solution Complex [in Trung My Tay Ward], so I’m waiting a little longer before heading home,” a young man who had stopped his motorcycle on the sidewalk told Tuoi Tre (Youth) online newspaper.

Local residents said flooding on Ma Lo Street is a recurring problem.

“Whenever heavy rain lasts 30 minutes to an hour, the street can flood up to 30-50 centimeters, making travel very difficult,” one resident explained.

Several locals added that authorities in Binh Tri Dong Ward often deploy teams to assist during floods, helping residents move through submerged areas, repairing stalled vehicles, and marking dangerous spots to ensure safety.

Despite these efforts, residents expressed frustration and urged long-term solutions.
