Spanning 4.95 hectares at Khanh An Industrial Park, the Minh Phu Khanh An seafood processing plant includes a 24,500-square-meter production facility and is expected to employ more than 5,000 workers.
The factory features modern production lines with a high level of automation.
Grading, color sorting, and shelling processes are fully automated, while the nobashi shrimp stretching process has an automation rate of about 70-80 percent.
Chu Thi Binh, chairwoman of Minh Phu Seafood JSC, said the investment aims to make the plant one of Vietnam’s most modern seafood processing facilities.
She emphasized that the design not only improves productivity but also provides spacious, well-ventilated working conditions for employees.
The plant will serve as a stable outlet for shrimp farms in Ca Mau and neighboring provinces, enhancing the value of Vietnam’s shrimp supply chain.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Lu Quang Ngoi, chairman of the Ca Mau administration, reaffirmed shrimp as a key economic sector for this southernmost province.
In 2025, Ca Mau’s seafood exports reached over $2.4 billion, cementing its position as one of Vietnam’s leading seafood hubs.
Minh Phu Seafood JSC alone contributed more than $542 million in exports last year, providing stable jobs for over 13,000 workers.
Ngoi said the new plant will help strengthen Ca Mau’s processing capacity, increase export value, and promote sustainable development of the shrimp industry.
The official added that the province will continue administrative reforms and create favorable conditions for investors to maximize project efficiency and contribute to local economic growth.
