Bui Van Dung, chairman of the People's Committee of Hoi An Tay Ward in Da Nang, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) online newspaper on Monday morning that visitor numbers at Tra Que vegetable village and Thanh Ha pottery village had continued to rise since the beginning of the year, thanks to investment in maintaining and improving the destinations.
Combined visitor numbers have reached 70 percent of the two attractions’ target for 2026.
Thanh Ha pottery village attracted 190,000 visitors, including 144,000 international tourists and 46,000 domestic visitors.
Tra Que vegetable village welcomed 30,000 visitors, including 29,000 international tourists.
According to the ward chairman, visitors mainly come from European and Asian markets, particularly South Korea and Taiwan.
In addition to tourists, the craft villages have attracted student groups from Da Nang and neighboring provinces who visit to learn about traditional crafts and gain hands-on experience.
To attract visitors, the local authorities have organized various cultural and tourism activities since the beginning of the year.
These include a ceremony recognizing Thanh Ha pottery village as the best community-based tourism destination of 2025, the Cam Ha ornamental kumquat festival, the Cau Bong Festival at Tra Que vegetable village, the Co Co River – Hoi An Tay Festival 2026, and the Thanh Ha pottery village founders' anniversary ceremony.

The locality has also launched a tourism product called “Back to Thanh Ha – Touch Pottery, Listen to Bai Choi” (bai choi is the central region's folk music), organized traditional pottery-making classes for 30 residents and continued developing a plan to promote community-based tourism at Tra Que vegetable village.
These activities aim to diversify tourism products, preserve traditional crafts and make the villages more attractive to domestic and international visitors.
Hoi An Tay Ward said it was investing in an underground power system at Tra Que vegetable village to improve safety and enhance the appearance of visitor pathways.
Speaking about the difficulties facing the local business community at a meeting marking Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13), Bui Van Dung said local authorities understood the challenges businesses were facing, with many struggling to manage their cash flow.
Although the locality's revenue had increased to nearly VND500 billion (US$19 million) since the beginning of the year, businesses were facing significant difficulties due to rising interest rates.
Many business owners have found it hard to manage their cash flow while maintaining production and paying workers’ salaries, the ward chairman said.
