84-year-old man prosecuted for allegedly raping 15-year-old disabled girl in Vietnam

Police in Tra Bong District, Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam on Monday commenced legal proceedings against an 84-year-old man and banned him from leaving his place of residence for allegedly raping a 15-year-old disabled girl.

H.V.T., a resident in Tra Bong District, was charged with raping an under-16-year-old person, who is unable to walk and speak.

She comes from a poor family.

On April 9, T. visited the victim’s house while she was home alone.

T. raped her although she tried to resist.

The victim’s father returned home and detected the case, so he reported it to local police.

At the police station, T. pleaded guilty.
