According to local authorities, the incident occurred around 10:15 am when an acid storage tank exploded, throwing the two workers away.
The victims, identified as N.H.T., 29, and H.D.K., 28, were rushed to Lam Dong General Hospital No. 2 but did not survive.
Initial findings suggest that during a routine technical inspection, the workers detected a leak in the hydrochloric acid tank and attempted to tighten several corroded bolts.
Sparks generated by a cutting tool used to remove the rust apparently ignited gas within the tank, triggering a powerful explosion.
Local police, labor inspectors, and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area, gather evidence, and work with the plant operator to investigate the cause.
Authorities also provided immediate assistance to the victims’ families.
